Rebuilding an established acting studio's website

The Ask

Meisner Technique Studio is an acting school founded by Jim Jarrett, offering Meisner Technique training in the Bay Area.

The existing website had grown over time and needed a complete rebuild. There was a lot to communicate - classes, training programs, testimonials, free teachings, Jim's background, and information for prospective students.

The goal was to create a clearer way for people to understand the studio, find the right program, and ultimately schedule an interview.

The Work

I rebuilt the site in WordPress from the ground up, reorganizing the content and navigation around the questions prospective students are likely to have.

The new structure puts the training programs first, while giving supporting content - including Meisner Technique resources, testimonials, free teachings, and information about Jim - a clearer place in the overall experience.

I designed and built the site, including the custom WordPress theme and the functionality needed to support the studio's content and application process.

The homepage was designed to answer the basic questions quickly: What is this? Who is it for? What does the training look like? And how do I take the next step?

The Result

The new site gives the studio a clearer way to present its training and helps prospective students find their way from learning about the technique to choosing a program and scheduling an interview.

It also gives Jim a much more manageable foundation for continuing to add and update content as the studio evolves.
